Lorain Metropolitan Housing Authority has Public Housing apartments located throughout Lorain County, including some accessible units. Bedroom sizes range from efficiency or studio units to six bedroom units and are issued to qualified applicants based on household size. Rent is based on gross income. Security Deposits are required. For residents with higher incomes, flat rents are available. Apartments are located near shopping centers, grocery stores, banks, drug stores, libraries, hospitals, and many other services.

Efficiency or Studio Apartments and One Bedroom Apartments

These apartments are located in Lorain, Elyria, Amherst, and Oberlin, OH. All apartments are located in high rise and/or low rise buildings. Some buildings have elevators. Each apartment includes a stove, refrigerator, and air conditioner. There is an annual surcharge for the use of the air conditioner. All buildings have laundry rooms with affordable debit card operated appliances. Rent is based on gross income. Qualified medical expenses may allow rent to be reduced further. Utilities are included. Small pets allowed with approval, pet policy, and pet deposit. Maintenance is on-site to make repairs.

These apartments are located in Lorain, Elyria, and Oberlin, OH. They are one and two floor apartments. Each unit is energy efficient, and is equipped with a stove and refrigerator. Residents pay gas and electric in most buildings. Air conditioners are permitted, but with restrictions and fees. Some developments have a laundry center with debit card operated appliances. Most apartments offer a private entrance, with a front and back yard. Repairs are just a phone call away. Rent is based on gross income.
